Black Jews or afroizrailtyane
I wonder how many more we do not know about the people with whom we live together, in one country. In Israel, already from the end of the 60s there is community "afroizrailtyan," or as they call themselves - Black Jews. No, this is not the Ethiopian Jews. They are - a group of African-Americans, who immigrated to Israel in 1969 from the U.S. and took root primarily in the south, in Dimona. Black Jews primarily religious, although "officially" the Jews are not counted.
There are several versions of the education community. For one, they consider themselves children of slaves, plantation owners, the Jews, before the American Civil War. Or is it just a group of African-Americans accepted the Jews. In general, if you're interested in the Jewish Encyclopedia is an entire article dedicated to this community.
