[kl-bogel] Buku Ripley's 1943 ada nama Malaysia 1963

Salam. Ni ada satu lagi citer baru.

Saya ada beli kat eBay satu buku Ripley's edisi tahun 1943 dan dalam buku tu, banyak kali ulang nama "Malaysia"... walhal nama Malaysia hanya wujud selepas 1963
(Pengisytiharan gagasan Malaysia)

(buku saya: tahun 2011 - tahun 1943 = buku uzur 68 tahun!)

daripada buku tersebut, saya dapati:
m/s 59:.....this includes Mongolia, Manchuria, MALAYSIA, Tibet, China...
m/s 119: ....is a native of MALAYSIA...
m/s 121: ......the man eating clams of MALAYSIA...

tahun 1943 merupakan era perang dunia kedua dan waktu tu negara kita dijajah pemakan sushi dari Jepun.... so nama Malaysia ni sbenarnya dh wujud sejak bila???
believe it or not!

"Buy United States War Bond and Stamps FOR VICTORY!
(era WWII la katakan)...
"in order to cooperate government's war effort, this book has been made with WPB regulations restricting the use of certain materials"

Ni pulak petikan suratkhabar tahun 1922, ditulis lama sebelum negara kita merdeka dan .....

......tajuk utamanya adalah....

....MALAYSIA!!.....

Following his 1826 expedition in Oceania, the French Navigator Jules Dumont d'Urville invented the terms Malaysia, Micronesia and Melanesia, distinguishing these Pacific cultures and island groups from the already existing term Polynesia. In 1831, he proposed these terms to The Société de Géographie. Dumont d'Urville described Malaysia as "an area commonly known as the East Indies"

In 1850, the English ethnologist George Samuel Windsor Earl, writing in the Journal of the Indian Archipelago and Eastern Asia, proposed naming the islands of Southeast Asia as Melayunesia or Indunesia, favouring the former.
jawapannya: FILIPINA !!

SEKALI lagi Wikipedia ada tertulis:

Politicians in the Philippines once contemplated naming their state "Malaysia", but in 1963 Malaysia adopted the name first

JAWAPAN: Langkasuka!!!

Wikipedia ada lagi catat:

At the time of the 1963 federation, other names were considered: among them was Langkasuka, after the historic kingdom located at the upper section of the Malay Peninsula in the first millennium of the common era.

Enjoy!

dan akhir sekali....banyak lagi buku nak kene review ni...sabar2...satu2...
